“Señal de Resistencia” es un proyecto en construcción que inicié a principios de 2019, sin imaginar que al año siguiente, durante largos meses, sería mi única forma de salir y ver el mundo.

Accedí a cientos de cámaras de vigilancia online y realicé capturas de pantalla concentrándome en las fallas del sistema. Susceptibles a todo tipo de factores biológicos, errores tecnológicos e interferencias, estos dispositivos construyen escenas sugerentes y misteriosas. La rebelión de las cámaras habilita al registro científico tornarse sensible y poético. Es en el interior del panóptico donde caen las certezas y las estructuras se desvanecen.

En este trabajo, utilizo la reflexión sobre la función de las cámaras de vigilancia para cuestionarme acerca de nuestros límites en la percepción de la realidad y de los otros.

 

"Signal of Resistance" is a work in progress that began in early 2019, without imagining thinking that the following year, for long months, this would be my only way to go out and see the world.

I accessed hundreds of online Security Cams and took screenshots focusing on system failures. Being susceptible to all type of biological factors, technological errors, and interferences, these devices produce mysterious and evocative scenes. The rebellion of the cameras enable the scientific record to become sensitive and poetic. It is within the panoptic where certainties fail and structures vanish.

In this work, I harness the reflection on the role of Security Cams to question myself about our limits in the perception of reality and of others.
